Hi - you live in the Daintree - an amazing place - forest, water, pigs, cassowaries and isolation, or you're moving to the Daintree rainforest, or maybe just thinking about it ... The challenges of living on the Daintree Coast are significant. It is a World Heritage area- it is the icon of the Douglas Shire and, as a result, requires us all to be very protective of this environment. While Daintree residents' experiences are diverse, we all agree that the more you understand. the more you will appreciate both the environment and community. This site aims to provides tips and guidelines from experienced Daintree residents to help you make a smooth transition to your new life in this very special place, or helps make your life here easier...
